Default Introducing a cast-end tank option for the AWE Tuning TT RS Front Mounted Intercooler

Presenting the AWE Tuning Audi 3.0T ColdFront System. Designed in house at AWE Tuning, the ColdFront System is the solution for consistent and reliable performance for modified vehicles looking for maximum power and reliability.

The AWE Tuning ColdFront Heat Exchanger was developed to reduce high air intake temperatures found in supercharged engines. Designed in house at AWE Tuning, this should be a mandate for supercharged 3.0T engines looking to keep things consistent and reliable.

Each ColdFront Heat Exchanger is made to AWE Tuning’s specifications by Griffin Thermal Products. Griffin has a 30 year history of making performance aluminum heat exchangers, and makes all of their products in-house to ensure quality and optimum cooling performance.

The AWE Tuning ColdFront Reservoir is CNC Machined from 6061 Billet Aluminum and plumbed directly into the heat exchanger coolant system to increase supercharger coolant capacity. The increase in coolant capacity leads to lower coolant temperatures, in turn supporting lower air intake temperatures.

The AWE Tuning ColdFront Protection Screen was conceptualized to guard the ColdFront Heat Exchanger from road debris. The ColdFront Protection Screen guards the full face of the heat exchanger with durable stainless wire mesh and is surrounded by a stainless steel frame, protecting it against any small objects that may find their way past the vehicle’s grill. This keeps the heat exchanger fins free of damage, allowing them to perform with maximum efficiency.
When used as a complete cooling solution, the AWE Tuning ColdFront System has been shown to decrease IATs by 15F after 8 pulls separated by 30 Second Intervals on a B8 S4 equipped with GIAC/AWE Stage 2 Software in controlled ambient temperatures of 90F.

Coolant Temperature drops are also shown at a maximum of 24F during the same test as mentioned above.

After continuous full throttle acceleration tests using the stock heat exchanger, on our fourth run, power on a car equipped with the AWE Tuning B8 Stage 2 Performance Pulley Kit was down 12whp. With the ColdFront System in place, power loss was nearly non-existent after four runs in the same ambient conditions!
