There is a lot of loss in the AWD system that Audi uses in comparison to the RWD of the M5. You also need to take into account that the BMW may have a different final drive ratio (makes a HUGE difference). Don't forget the different drivers and tires they may be running.

I can't load the page but what year is the M5? Is it a newer one with 500HP? If so that's hardly a fair comparison.

V10+RWD>V8+AWD in the dry.

 

in the end where the M5 passes the S4,the S4 looks like its taking a nose dive meaning its slowing down. im thinking the S4 won and started to slow when the M5 flew by.
