Since watching this video twice, I decided to run out to the hardware store, and buy an extinguisher. Rather sad, though, I saw a part of a fire extinguisher, why didn't he use it when the fire was still contained in the engine bay?

 

Probably a smoldering electrical fire. hard to put out.

Anyway, they could probably have also contained the fire way better if they had closed the doors and hood before they left the car. This reminds me of a funny story I read about these people who tried to burn their cars out for insurance money, so they doused the inside with gasoline, threw in a match, and closed the door. All they got was a torched interior because the closed doors starved the fire of enough oxygen to keep burning.
