Default Question about switchblade remote...

Purchased my 2001 TTR and it came with only one key... just a key, no switchblade remote fob.

How do I figure out what fob I need? The coding on the inside of the fob corresponds to something... so how do you figure out what matches what?

Yeah... was trying to avoid the dealer and buy one off of Ebay. It looks like a "B" or an "F" at the end of the code may work. My current key (only key I have) is an Audi key with the little push light in the base. It has no "W" marking on the key itself, meaning (I'm assuming) there is no immobilizer chip in it, which probably also means I don't have that on the car. So... I probably don't need to worry about that on the key fob, just matching the code to work with the security system.

My car only came with one.
Figured because of how weird the keys are only a dealer can cut them
bet there expensive. Like everything on those cars haha.

Car should come with three(3) keys.

2 - Switchblade keys
1 - Valet key

If you just recently purchased the car, I'd go back to the stealership and demand the other 2 keys for no charge!

I wonder why dealers are getting so shady on the keys lately...

I bought from a 'used car dealer'... yeah, shady at best, but it was a really good deal. They also had a local Audi/Porsche dealer replace the ABS/ESP module and headlight adjusting module free of cost (it wouldn't pass DEG otherwise). Now, the car is in perfect shape... other than the fact that I found out yesterday that I DO in fact have the immobilizer and the chip in my current key. So, I will have to go to the dealer to have any other keys I buy reprogrammed to work.
