Well this product was test fitted on a 1998 and up Audi A4 and 1998 and up Audi S4. We aren't quite sure if this item will fit a 1997. If Audi has not done any changes to the steering wheel column this item should fit. You might want to call your nearest Audi dealer to find that out. We will do our part and post an answer to your question soon. Thank you for your interest in our product.
