i usually dont post cause i dont ever really care to brag. but i figure i was hoping someone on here might know this car and if so anything more about him.
im traveling on US192 in florida and i ended up racing this 2000-2005 black focus hatch. after racing awhile we ended up talking at a light. he was using a k24 from a porsche. said he had about 180 to the wheels. every launch i think i shifted through 1st before i heard him boost. i was proud of my audi sticking it to a ford for what a fatty my car is. but then we trun south onto whickham road.
we are weaving through traffic and just messing around. i made a move and blew by him. then out of now where these blue zenon hid's came around him. so i stayed WOT in third till 90, where he caught me, shifted, and almost shattered my eardrums cause his bov was so loud, then proceded to run not walk away from me.
i mean my buddy has a Speed3 and i beat him to 50 (NOT 60) every time cause i just launch soo much better than him, and he catches me then has about 2 car lengths at 80 on me. but no this was from what i can tell a debadged 3.5 maxima with limo tint that had the acceleration of a tuned Z06. i was clearly impressed. the only reason i was able to catch him was cause the sitting at the red light in front of us was sherrif, which ended all signs of fun.
just wondering if anyone knows anything about this guy? or hp figures of a car like this, i havnt really looked for kits for this car cause it happened last night.

Turbo_krout, I do not know too much about Porsches, but isnt a K24 a Porsche turbocharger? Or is it a motor?

no NOT bs, the k24 (or k27 depending on where you read) is the turbo from the newer porsches, and that is like a 3.6 liter engine in the porsche if he had had that with the twin turbos i wouldnt have had a chance lol
and thanks for the info, i didnt think the maximas made any where near the same as the 350, but it appears more clear to me now why i looked stock compared to him.

That is a Ztec engine in the focus. I thought for a minute you were impling it had a Porsche motor. What do you mean twin turbos from the new car? Truth be told, twin turbos on a 4 cylinder is far from an efficent, or easy setup.
yea the ford focus had the stock FORD engine with only one k24 from a wrecked porsche.
i was referring to turbo kraut's statement that if the focus would have had the 3.6 twin turbo from a porsche i and most everyone else would be owned by the focus lol
and twins on a 4 cylinder can be effecient but TOTALLY NOT EASY...... kinda like eyes bleeding from strain and i need to go to the hosiptal cause i stuck something sharp inside my ear hard....
Im working on a it for me right now.... i know the boost makes up for the lag but i like having 15 psi at 2600 with all my mods right now... and unless you have all the mods i have dont say its not possible or im lying....
it sucks big time.... trying to learn things by yourself when you start asking questions that most people without a lifetime working with turbos or an engineering degree cant (or better yet wont cause they think its too hard or a lame idea) answer is the worst....
i figure tho if i run two sets of every component (like two EBC, two fuel pumps and many other controllers) one for each turbo and keep say the stock k03 to fill in the gap of what ever monster i stuff sequentually behind it MIGHT work... might as in i need to think this through alot and have better luck....
that way during just crusing around a city with the light to medium use of the throttle say 60% the engine would only use the k03 and therefor remain some what effecient.... besides the new injectors and about 1576.29 new or different parts i would need to make it work with the fuel delievery and air intake....
but i mean just hypothetically if i had the k03 and say a gt35, the k03 could boost the car while the gt35 started to spool... the once the gt35 spoooled the k03 could be cut out electronically or even a mixture of both so neither turbo would have to work as hard... and just as the gt35 is about to spool/spike the k03 starts to bleed off so i dont spike way to much psi and blow myself to the moon..... but like i said its ALL JUST HYPOTHETICAL at this point. but i mean i would rule at auto-x i wouldnt have to take a turn with high rpms cause i knew no matter what as soon as i floored it i would have lotsa boost.....
feel free to ponder through ideas, shout them out or what not.... but please dont bash... i know its a crazy idea... and i know its easier just buying an apr kit and doing it that way... but i dont like easy and i dont like to follow suit... i like to be different and having a tt a4 with two different turbos would be way different and crazy.. plus fast as hell

Twins on an I4 is a terrible idea. Sorry, but just stating the truth. I4's are single turboed for a reason. To run twins, you'd have to fabricate the exhaust manifold to feed two turbines, then all the piping for the compressed air, as well as the exhaust gases. Right there you're already running into complications. Couple that to the fact that a small displacement I4 doesn't even make the required exhaust gases two spool two turbos, and there you have it. A decent sized single isalways gonna be way more efficient than twins on a 4 cyl.....
Correct. Twin turbo is the easiest setup on a V, but on an inline isnt the best. Why do you think all the fast skylines and supras run a single large turbo, like a 40r or something like that.
A inline 4 is a dumbass motor to fab tts. A 35r will spool fine on your car. I have spooled them on 4g63s at around 4k.

like i said i like to be different plus it would be cool as hell to have, besides the supras and skylines have way more displacemment one liter of displacement changes everything when it comes to airflows, its the same reason why you max out a4 with a 3" exhaust but there are skylines running 5".

and i said it wouldnt be easy, but pipe is relatively cheap and i can weld so im not worried about fab, that is the easy part, making the tuning is the hard part, and the engine will never need to have two tubos bolted to one exhaust manifold, thats why the k03 would cut out, all the exhaust could just by pass it and go to the next turbo if i did it in line, it would be the same way your turbo acts while you are just cruising down the highway you are actually running 0 pressure and should have a state of vacuum.
