ok guys so this happened earlier today i was pulling out of my street when i saw this late model M3 you know the boxy kind.. convertable, wheels, the angel eye, hid's you know sounded good even... he was on this guys ***.. bad The guy was a driver of a I'd say 2001 A6 poor guy its like he didnt even want to step on it.. so for some reason that pissed me off and I'm usually not the type to hate on beemers but... maybe the driver.. or situation... anyway i pulled up to the M3 and we went at it i'd say bout a 30 mph roll I was in my 98 a4. complete stock 2.8. 30v. i met him at second took it to third and fourth and it seemed like his car was hauling *** but i was leaving him slowly..... It had an M3 badge and all that you guys think it was a real one?

Shouldn't he had whooped me.

P.S. he's from town so i'll be seeing him again just asking for future info. haha

 

Probably a 318 rebadged. If you took out 4 spark plugs from the bimmer the M3 would give you a run for your money.

 

I agree with Ketamine1 about it being a rebadged 3 series. I have a 99 A4 2.8 as well as an '02 C32 AMG. The AMG is on par with the E46 M3 and is in a different league than the A4. Maybe he wasn't really racing you.

 

if it has dual exhuast then it is likely an M3, otherwise its rebadged. Also, the m3 has wider body.



your car will not even compete with a real m3.

 

he said it was boxy looking. it is most likely an e36 3 series. could have possibly been an e30 3 series but you dont see those everyday.. or ever.. at least not here in IL
