Took her to the strip last night
So a bunch of buddies and I took our cars up to the 1000 FT. track yesterday and had some fun. I've never been to a track before and my Audi was my first manual, so it was interesting trying to get the launch down. I have a 2004 A4 3.0 6spd. My best time of the night was against a Mustang GT(4.6L), where I ran a 13.14 and only lost by .25. I definately learned a lot more about my car and had a great time. I lost more than I won, but for the first time at the track, I don't think I did too bad. The next time I go up there I will have a Milltek exhaust, a Hyperflow intake, and a short throw shifter to help me get below the 13 second mark. I think a little more experience will help that also.
Out of the 9 races, I only won one. Out of those 8 that I lost, I thought I would win one of them, but he was spraying. I lost to a late 90's Mustang GT(4.6L), a V6 Tiburon(he was the one spraying), a 04 Mach 1, a VW Golf GTI with too many mods to list, a 57 Chevy with a crate motor, an older S10 with a small block V8 and drag radials, a Subaru Forrester that was running low 11's(read: many mods, but he wouldn't say what...I lost to him twice). The only race I won was against an Avenger. I know it's a lame win, but I'll take it.
A Subaru Forester that's funny my mom and stepfather have matching Forester's. Those things are terds I'm sure that guy had a ton of mods done to that thing. Look at it this way a wins a win
That thing was pretty damn quick. All he would say about it was that it was far from stock. It beat out a 350Z touring model to win the class. I was in that class too. I know a win is a win, but it was getting pretty rediculous towards the end. It was still really fun.
