Default back axle bushes

i have just put axle bushes on my a4 b5 1.6. i got a shot of the tool to replace them, but the back of the car still wobbles when i hit drain covers or bad bumps and there is a knocking sound when this happens. the bushes were a tight fit. it has lowering shocks, and 40 series tyres on it.could it have anything to do either of these things? or should the bolts going through the bushes be very tight? i did tighten them with a lever bar. any advice would be great....................cheers
