C6 Air suspension challenges
Hi All,
Hoping someone might be able to help me through an air suspension issue I am having on my 2009 C6 (A6) 3.0 Avant.
Symptoms: day after I bought it, stuck in jacking mode, front bags down on bump stops, compressor intermittently working. Was showing an error code of plausibility of level control system - sporadic
I removed all the wheel level sensors and checked for wear, seemed fine, checked compressor was running very hot. After this I was able to get the fronts inflated, but when I jacked the wheel up to reinstall the arch liner the fronts deflated again.
I then replaced the relay, compressor and valve block with new parts as first step, as the car has 180,000 km
During the upgrade all the air was released from the rear bags as expected.
After replacing the compressor and valve block, the rears have pumped up but the fronts are still down on bump stops. No errors showing in the diagnostics.
Any clues on how to get the fronts up? or what how to problem solve the residual issue?
When I try to get out of jacking mode I can hear a click but nothing further.
Thanks in advance
Keri

Hey Keri, I’ve been through a similar nightmare with my C6 — air suspension can be tricky once the fronts get stuck on the bump stops. Since you’ve replaced the compressor, valve block, and relay, the next likely culprits are either the front level sensors or the height control valves for the front. Sometimes the sensors read “safe” but don’t allow the fronts to lift until the system sees proper travel. A step-by-step troubleshooting guide from the service manual really helps to isolate which part is still causing the issue. You can get the full C6 air suspension procedures on .www.audi-manualspro.com — it saved me a ton of trial and error and made diagnosing the stuck fronts much faster.
When I started experiencing suspension problems with my car, I knew I needed a reliable solution—something that would not only fix the issue but also improve the overall driving experience. After some research and countless reviews, I came across suspensions for the 2024-2025 Toyota Tacoma by SuspensionLifts https://www.suspensionlifts.com/prod...toyota-tacoma/ . This online platform specializes in lift kits, suspension upgrades, and high-quality parts for trucks and off-road vehicles. So I trust them.
