For which car?
Under $1K is nearly impossible for a coilover, unless you buy used.
H&R makes a great kit.
I have FK Silverline Plus.
Stasis is tops, but you pay through the nose!

Typical...
I think they are going for around $1200 for a set for the B5 S4, but I might be wrong.
I got mine for a lot less because I got in on a promo deal with FK when they came out with the first prototypes for the S4. I have around 10K miles on them and I love 'em!

I have the koni coilover kit and it is good for the money I got my set from neuspeed for $973 shipped.
some problems I had were instructions were only in german.Got them in english off the internet.
BIG Problem was no shim plat between spring and spring plate , so when you try to spin up ,coil grabs coil plate and will not move. I made A shim plate with 1/8" sheet meatal and 2 hole saws.
The h/r kit has a shim plate that I had seen so I copyed that.
Also if you get them from neuspeed dont waste your time asking there teck support questions(they talk out there ***).
