Default lowering springs for my estate

hi woundering if anyone can help me, im looking into lowering my 2000 plate audi a6 2.7 quattro estate but coilovers are about 700!!!! so iv been looking into springs but have no idea how low to go i was thinking around 60mm?? but i can only seem to find 40mm spring but i dont no if that will b enough?
