Default module test says voice module not available?

i just got my vag com cable & want to change my voice settings so I can use voice commands in my 2010 cab. the module for voice is said to be not available. does anyone know what thats all about?

Default voice button not operative

when I got this car last month, I believe it was working but I did not know to use the mmi system but was fiddling with it & may have hit something I shouldn't have.
when I push the voice command button, nothing happens but on the drivers information system display (between the tach & speedo) it reads "button n used"
anyone have any ideas, I tried resetting the MMI system & no change

spoke to the previous owner & he confirmed the voice button used to work when he had the car, i am know convinced I did something in playing with the settings to make this now not work. does anyone know what I could have done to make this button not work, other than plugging in a vag com cable & changing default settings?
