Vagcom code - 17608 - N249?
Afternoon, all
First and foremost, hello to all - this is my first post. Secondly, and this is quite important, I am pretty clueless about cars. I've had a Mk1 TT (2000, 66k) for about a month and a half now and have been having fun finding out about ignotion coils poking up and having to replace them!
I have a friend with vagcom and have a fault code that keeps coming up - 17608 (Boost Pressure Control Valve) N249. From spending quite a bit of time on the web, I *believe* that replacing the N249 DV should resolve the problem, correct? Or could something else be causing the problem?
Finally, has anyone had any dealings with Mark of MDM Technik, based in the Berkshire area? I've been using an independant garage until now, but they used a non-Audi-original ignition coil last time (cheeky bastard!) so I'm keen to ue an Audi specialist from now on but not sure who to use.
Thanks in advance
Andrew

The n249 is under the intake manifold. Most likely has a broken vac line from it to the diverter valve. Coilpacks go bad and if you pay someone to replace them, you are a sucker. www.mjmautohaus.com and www.ecstuning.com are the places to buy most of your replacement parts from and then diy.

Ok, thanks mate. I appreciate your comment about the ignition coils. I know where they're located now so will not be using a garage for those in future!
My friend did the vagcom thing again and the 17608 - N249 fault had disappeared, only to be replaced by a fault to do with the immobiliser (I didn't write down the fault code). He said it's because the ignition coils are sorted now so the boost pressure issue is no more.
So, were the faulty ignition coils linked to the boost pressure fault at all? Apologies in advance for my ignorance.
