I'm thinking about transferring to OSU within the next few months and would like some input from someone local to sort out places to live, work, and of course, play Even if you're familiar with the area but not necessarily from there, that still could be of use, as I may move up and get residency before starting school. Haha maybe SoCal is a tad warm for me though, hence the Northwest primary choice but I'll keep it in consideration for sure; I just need a job that'll pay me about 15/hr and I'll be set haha

 

Yo dude I'm from Dallas, about 5 minutes from Monmouth. As far as stuff to do in this area I'm afraid it's a little limited unless you don't mind a bit of a drive. couple hours to the mountain, 45 minutes to the lake, they have a decent skatepark, but other then the extreme stuff theirs a lot of college student stuff to do. (Not a whole lot of Euro car enthusiasts unfortunately) As far as places to work their are tons of part time food service jobs, but not a whole lot else in the service industry. It's definitely not a tourist area, but much of the town is geared toward the college life with minimum wage jobs for anyone interested. Overall it's a sick college you can bet you'll have a good time. Good luck man! if you got any questions about the area before you head over let me know I may be able to help out
