if it was factory tint get a letter from dealer that it is factory and the judge will dropthat one. front euro plate sucks because you have to have orig on carbut you can but the euro plate under or over but that looks kinda gay.

sucks man

OK- I used to be a popo, but I don't take offense to the title of the thread. Popos have thick skin. You got the ticket for the carpool violation. I think that is a $341 dollar fine. It should cost you no points unless you crossed over the double yellow... that's a mover that goes on your record. CHP is pretty tough on the vehicle code enforcement. Your tint looks pretty dark and does not look factory. The dealer installing it will not save you on this. A lot of people hide behind their tints and use the carpool lane solo. Also, cops hate dark tints because they can't see vehicle occupants when they approach vehicles on foot. Always let cops see your hands- it makes them feel better. I personally hate the front plate rule in CA and have no plate on the front of my A6. I think the Euro plate attracts more attention than no plate at all. The rear tinted taillights- when you tint them they become less effective, thus a safety issue. They look sweet, but they are asking for a ticket. Once you "fix" your items he cited you for, take it to a CHP office and they should sign you off as good to go. You can reinstall at your own risk of this happening again.

^ Take the ticket to the dealer and tell them that. Can't hurt. Removing tint sucks BTW.

Clipse, my suggestion is go in front of the judge and say i didn't get it fixed he'll reduce the fine and you 'll be good to go. i missed my court date went in 2 months later and he threw out my failure to appear dropped the fix it fine down form 150 to 50 dollars and dropped my FTA from 300 down to 100 bucks total 150 out the door. if I would have gone on time it would have been only 50 bucks or cheaper maybe. but I do warn that if you had the wrong judge then you could also pay the full amount so be careful, it's a gamble.
