i worked for cutco for a good couple of months (i made it up to ASR) then i saw the truth.

it's a reverse pyramid scheme.

quit the job while u can and DONT buy the sample kit. vector marketing is a marketing scam genius. don't get me wrong, i love the knives and have a homemaker at my house. and the rest of the family i sold the knives to, love them.

but as a job, nah, quit now. they'll convince u that it's not a scam but in reality, it is. you get payed super shitty paychecks while the managers make most of the bank in ur head start period and you do stupid demo's cutting rope and leather and convincing the customer it's better than henkels. one thing i did get out of the job was good sales experience and dealing with customers.

but for the most part, bottom line is = QUIT. you'll be losing more money than you make. (gas, travel time, wear & tear on ur car, etc.)

here's links to back up my claim:

and you can find more on the net'. tell them to ****** blow me when u quit.

Those companies sure take advantage of a lot of people... youngens especially. I almost got reeled in my first year out of HS, but I knew better since I was aware of the history behind pyramids and their modern day applications; looks like a rat, smells like a rat... or shark.

I've sold cars, I've sold cell phones, hell I've sold food off the back of a truck door to door. I know sales, and this is NOT a scam. To the inexperienced eyes for a kid who's never done sales and has no idea where to start, it can be almost impossible. I have a book of about 300 people who I've sold to on previous occasions, and who know and trust me. Im sure I can get most of them to buy, not to mention more referrals.

It's not a scam, its not a pyramid, it's just outside sales. I've done it before and had a lot of fun, but quit because I got tired of selling a crappy product. Anyone who's ever used a Cutco knife will tell you they are THE best cutlery in the world, **** my grandma has a set of them from 1960 something and they still own. The product sells them self, and I am sure I can easily setup 6-10 appointments a day, and @ $18 an hour, even if no one buys its better then letting my car get repo'd.

It's not easy for everyone, Its not even for most sales people, but I've enjoyed outside sales in the past, and im sure I'll enjoy it again.

^ don't get me wrong i love the knives, but who wants to spend $600+ on a set of knives? even though i've made it to ASR, i'm glad i quit. money was horrible. comma checks? rofl. they always try and entice you on comma checks to strive to be an 'FSM'.

few weeks after i quit, i got a REAL job and got comma checks every ******* paycheck with benefits. screw vector marketing.

i hope u see the light and realize cutco is retarded.

but hey job is a job even though it's upside down like vector.

Maybe your right, but its all I got right now, and I know how the system is suppose to work. I'll make sure to make as much money as I can before bouncing.

But dude, $600 for a set of knives you only have to buy once in your life, or (average amount of cheap knife set from walmart once a year x 50 years) $2500-$3500....

I think anyone who can read numbers would wanna buy these knives after using them. It cost my grandma $8 to ship her set back to cutco every 10 years and they come back brand new. It's a good product. We'll see how it goes.
