I was hit by a flying plywood board on the fwy today! I need a bodyshop ASAP!!
I'm so ticked. I was on the 405 at about 4:00AM this mornining on my way to work. I was in the valley I think, and the truck in front of me ran over a large plywood board. It was probably 3X4 or so. It was a large board. It broke the passengerfog light grill, hit the bumper itself, scraped the hood, bounced off the windshield, and flew over the top of the car.
Just for the record, THIS SUCKS!!! I just got this car on 6/3 and have had horrible luck. Bad coilpacks, flat tire, a dipped headlight warning yesterday, and now this today.
Anyway, I called the insurance and they recommended a few shops but said that I could take it anywhere I wanted. I have a couple of questions. Instead of getting the USP front, could I pay a little out of pocket and get an Ottinger, Rieger, or similiar front?
And more importantly can anyone recommend a good shop that can work with me?
The insurance company recommended Santa Monica Ford, I guess they work with all makes cause I asked why I'd take my Audi to the Ford dealer. They also mentioned LeMans at Lincoln and Santa Monica Blvd.
Feel free to PM and email me also.
Thanks for your help guys.

oh wow thats sucks. sorry about your car dude. good luck with the body shop. i don't know of anyone in that area.
I've got to drop it off on Monday at the shop so they can fix it, but on Friday I had to put a new AC compressor in my suburban. $1,200 later.......
So I'm going to hold off on getting the bumper fixed. It really isn't that bad. Not very noticible, I'm just ****. (insert gay jokes here).
All I really need is the passenger side fog light grill and I'll be ok for now. I want a new front bumper anyway so I shouldn't be trippin too hard.

I have to replace that grill on mine, and it was only I think $45 from the dealer an they would have it in a couple days. The only thing is yours is an 05' so it'll most likley be a lot more.
Did you have to take off the bumper?
I still need to look and see how it's even connected. The screw holes or mounts or whatever may be broken...that'd suck.

I have a body shop guy who will generally work with you and try to roll your deductible into the cost and help you get aftermarket parts but hes in Simi Valley. Amazing quality of work though, and fast
