Hey my SoCal Peeps,

I can't believe how long it's been since I've been in communication with any of you. I am alive and well in Texas. Also, I still own the Audi, so I think that I'm still good to be on this site. LOL

I miss you guys a lot. I've been to one GTG in the SA area and it's just not the same. The warm fuzzy feeling just wasn't there, and I don't think anybody was too interested in me or my car. Oh well! There isn't very many Audi cars around here at all, and anybody that talks to me about mine thinks it is a really expense and nice car, but they'd rather have a truck. LOL I can't begin to tell you how many times I've been nearly run over by a truck that can't see me driving next to them.

The cops around here are absolutely brutal too. I value my radar detector more than any of my mods around here. For the most part, the police entirely use radar, but my little town has over a dozen cops, and it seems their only source of revenue is speeding tickets. I have a little under 2 miles to drive to the interstate, and I will pass 1-3 speed traps along the way, everyday. So far, my wife is the only one to get pulled over for speeding, but she batted her eyes, cried a little, then got away with only a warning. That same crap would never work for me. LOL

I'll work on posting some pictures of the home. It is absolutely wonderful! We have spent a fortune on things for the home, so I'm in the poor house, but that seems par for the course in today's economy. I think we are just about done with our major purchases, and it'll be down to my wife squeezing the last nickle and dime out of me to finish the decorating. The best part is that I fully enjoy coming and being home now. Nothing quite like it!

The car is basically unchanged, save for the Texas tags. I'm going to change the oil today as I'm past the first 50k, and now everything is on my dime. Unfortunately, my tires have turned into the loudest, most annoying things on the planet. I was initially thinking I might have a wheel bearing going out, but I talked with the service manager and mechanic at the stealership yesterday, whom I've made good friends with, and they think it is entirely the tires. I really need to find an inexpensive set of good quiet tires with a decent tread wear rating. My car has been used as a commuter now, and I'd give up the performance for a little piece and quiet. LOL With the current set of tires, I can't even give half throttle through the first few gears or the tires will slip and I'll be fighting the traction control the entire time. The car is a beast this time of year in Texas with the cooler weather and 93 octane pump gas. Couldn't be happier with the engine performance, and I'm getting 30 mpg on my commute. If anyone has a nice set of tires to donate, I'll give you the address so you can swing them on by. I'll make you a nice loaf of bread, feed you dinner, and more drinks than you can handle. LOL

I'm still working for the same company at the biggest location in SA. Unfortunately, it is a 45 mile commute one way. The benefit is that I don't have to deal with LA traffic, but Texans tend to drive very slow. I guess that I'm now beginning to mellow some, and lose my Audinam edge that I once used on a daily basis. I almost never hit over 100mph anymore, what a shame!

I hope you all have a happy new year, and I definitely miss the GTG's. Let me know if any of you are in the area, and your more than welcome in my home. We've had more visitors since we've owned this home than we did the entire time we lived in SoCal. I'm guessing that the house is much more comfortable, or South Texas is a much more popular and easier area for our friends to travel? In any case, you all are welcome. I still have the same phone number, so feel free to reach out and text or talk with me if you dare. LOL

Off to work on the Audi.

Cheers!

Chefalicious
