Default Re-fueling auto shut off problem

When re-fueling, the pump's automatic shut-off stops the flow of fuel after only a tenth of a gallon. I have to hold the handle and continually re-engage it to get a full tank. Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

it might be escaping gas from the tank building too much pressure and mesing with the nossle, it happens to me sometimes, does it happen on hot days

It started in December when temps were in single digits. Any ideas how to solve the problem? It continues with temps now in the teens last time I refueled.
