Speeding in a work zone, big ticket!
I recently was on my way to the gas station from home in Alaska. At this road with a speed limit of 45, I accelerated for a little up to 54, then I started to let off the gas from there. However, I was not aware about the double fines and the fact that the limit is changed to 35 mph due to work zones. A cop that was at a light back got me going 54 and caught up to me at the next light and pulled me over. I got a $314 ticket for speeding in a work zone, and a $130 ticket for not having a seatbelt on. What is bothering me the most is the 4 points he gave me on my license for speeding. I was wondering if there are any ways I can contest this. And if anybody can find me a site where I can see all the consequences and all for speeding (by mph), reckless driving, ect...
can't go to traffic school? and normally it's 1 point for speeding, but since it's a work zone, probably 2 points, and seat belt is a major one, i think that's a two pointer, but don't know about alaskan laws up there though...... try getting a lawyer and contest it, if you're lucky, the cop won't show and you don't have to worry about ANY of your points
lol, it is $4.19 per gallon. I live in the mountains so It sucks having to drive from up the mountain and down. Also hard to keep your car clean! But I'll look in on the contesting, that would be great if the cop didn't show then
. The whole work zone bullshit got me pretty upset.
