your opinions for another Audi for the Audinam
I feel I should knock some sense into you. As demographics of this forum clearly show, virtually 100% that replied to your two threads in the west forum drive a sporty car... Fast, modable, handles, etc. Now of all people, YOU and YOU alone want to go into a family car?
Letme tell you the financial stupidities I went through when shopping for my first car after graduating college. I originally wanted an s2000, but seeing that I'm a married fool, I decided (or should I say it was decided for me) to get an SUV with some x-factor. As a result I bought a new 06 xterra. Now that was a nice truck in its own right but it handled poor (SUV) but a great overall car all around. Nevertheless, I sold it in 3 months and took a loss.
After selling the xterra, I went to go shopping for an s2000 but came across the A3. Now that car was a gift from god. Fast, 4 seater, Open sky, DSG...
Of course I bought it on the spot and loved it. Of course, almost a year later, I crashed it.
Now, when shopping for another car, I realized what I wanted in a car. It needed to be fast, handled great, convert or sunroof, and MT. I test drove... actually, I didn't test drive anything but an s2000. After almost 8 months of ownership I'm never looked back.
If you shop for a car, you better get something equivalent or better than the A3. Your a fast speed demon and a corner carver by heart. I know with 100% certainty that if you get an A6 you'll regret it. Especially when you come back down to socal and goto the meets... when you goto Palomar... when you goto the GTG cruises and get left behind... etc.
Besides, do you really want to see Brian in your front of your car all the time? He needs to be in the rear view!!!!
If I was in your position, I'd be looking for a UR-Quattro...

hmmm.. i do like the a6.... very clean
never driven one though... so not sure how it would compare to the a3 or even my s4... but i am pretty suprised how great my car handles for being sort of a big car... the handling my be pretty good in the a6.... i have seen some of Nam's driving first hand and a "speed demond" would be putting it lightly
.... so i definetly think either another a3 or b5 s4 would fit you well.....
go for some long test drives like everyone else is saying.... just watch out for ice patches and wear a helmet

Just FYI, if you decide on getting the A6, you'll have a C5 buddy waiting for you in SoCal (germantech).
Like said, if you feel like modding the performance of the car, the A3 or the A4/S4 would be the cars you need to go for. If you just feel like cruising, I strongly believe the A6 is a great car for that (I know it is also a fast car. I've seen Jon's (germantech) car in action).
