I'm new here, and have couple questions about changing wheels. I hope somebody can help me out.

I own an 08 2.0t audi tt. While I driving t makes a lots noisy, I have changed the tires for three times. It costed me a lot money, and I can not stand it any longer. I decide to change wheels; I check the size of my model is 17'' X 8. My question is that can i use a different size or bigger size wheel and tire without causing any issue? I don't know much about cars, so hope somebody can help me out.
