Default 235/40/r19?

Curious if this is a common tire size for a B7 Avant? I don't see many options online, so wondering if will fit while adding a little more cushion on this daily driver. Currently my ride height is stock, but I'm in the works now to install a modest lowering with springs/ struts (1.5" in front, 1" in back). Since I just recently had my first child, the new name of the game is ride quality over ride height (but still need to remove that brutal wheel gap).

Anyone running 235/40/R19 with an 1" or more lowering? They seem like they'd fit, but curious to hear from those running them if they rub after lowering the car.. or if I should just stick with the 235/35/19's that came on it if I plan on lowering?

Looking at the Goodyear Eagle Touring (https://www.pepboys.com/tires/detail.../2082369/00847) for and Falken FK450 A/s https://www.americastire.com/buy-tir...50-a-s/p/26691 for 235/40/19 size.

So it doesn't seem like the 235/40/19 is going to work -- that is if I plan on lowering 1". As it sits right now, at stock height, the 40 aspect ratio will completely fill the wheel well in the back, while maybe leaving me .5" of clearance in the from, which more than likely wouldn't be worth the $$ to lower IMO.

Car came with the 19" RS4 replicas (and 235/35/19 tires), but not really sure if they're OEM or replicas at this point since I haven't taken them off. Here's my predicament -- the current tires have a 91 load rating, while my 07 Avant requires a load rating of 93. I've done my research on the load ratings and it doesn't seem to be a deal breaker for me, however, America's Tire and even Pep Boys are telling me they can't even sell me a 235/35/19 because they don't meet the 93 load rating for my car.

I'm being told my options are to go with a 245/35/19 or 235/40/19 to meet the required 93 load rating. With the above in mind (40 aspect ration + drop) it sounds like I'm left to go with the 245/35/19.. Anyone running this size tire on your B7, specifically an Avant? With a 1"-1.5" drop in mind, could I expect rubbing issues? Pics of your setup greatly appreciated!!

If you pull the wheels off your car they should be stamped with the width and offset, that'll be a big part of what size tires you can run without rubbing.

I have customers running 275/35/19s pm the B7 that are very low with no issues and guys running 245/35/19 that rub. It'll all depend upon on the wheels.

Thanks James! Can always count on ECS for some helpful advice. Tell Andy I'm almost ready to pull the trigger and thinking I'm gonna go the KW route

I haven't pulled the wheels yet, but thinking that's my next step to confirm width and offset -- and whether they're OEM or replica wheels. As of now, I'm going with the offset and width from Hartmann: https://www.hartmannwheels.com/audi-wheels#uid-12 which is ET38 and 8.5" width.

-Assuming they're replica's, can I expect fitment with ET38?

-Am I correct that OEM RS4 wheels are 9" width?

Offset - 35

Rim size - 19x8

With the above, can I expect rubbing with the 245/35/19? Also, I thought the replicas were 8.5" wide.. Both VMR and Hartmann show 8.5" inch width online... does the stamp just not include it?

Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on 245s, unless there are any horror stories from other users. PLEASE SHARE! It seems like the preferred size is 235/35/19 -- even Avant owners running the 91 load rating, instead of the Avant-recommended 93 load rating (which you would get from the 245/35/19 or 235/40/19 tire size). From what I can tell from this https://www.rimsntires.com/tires.jsp...eter=19&brand= they should fit at stock ride height. TBD on fitment when lowering.

-Select "Tires" in upper right hand corner
-Then plug in 245/35/19
[My offset is 35 and no spacers)

From the results, it shows that they are "correct size for A4" and that they're "10mm taller" than the OEM 17's it came with. Furthermore, you'll see under the vehicle application selection (in the red boxes) that OEM can fit "Tires up to 664x245mm and Rims up to 20x9.0". Think I have what I need to pull the trigger on going with the 245s. Will post pics of the before / after to give you guys a sense of fitment at stock height.
