Default Need a quieter tire for an '08 A6

I'm running Goodyear Eagle 245/40ZR18 on my 2008 A6 and I'm frustrated with the road noise. On some surfaces it approaches unbearable. I'm looking for a quiet all-weather tire. No need for snow tires. Any recommendations?

Check out these!

Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus

This is the new Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus. When I tested this tire the quality of ride and comfort was amazing.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS's. I put a set on my '07 A4 a few weeks ago, unbelievable difference from the noisy, harsh P6's I had on before... Quiet, smoother ride, great wet traction--the daily commute is amazingly "calm", and I now hear all kinds of things I didn't before--it's like the tires made the car better. If it matters: my ride is an '07 A4 3.2/quattro cab w/S-line.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS

I also recommend GP Auto near Bethesda, if you are in the Washington DC area. Excellent post-warranty work, cheaper than dealer, the crew really knows these cars, thorough, honest, shop is near a WMATA Metro stop.

Live in Tampa, Fl. Currently on Michelin Pilot Super Sports 255/35/19 for my 2011 A6 with sport suspension. Excellent ride. OEM continental SportContact 3's very good, but ran loud after 10K miles. Have used ExtremeContact DW for a Lexus GS 350. Horrible tire (everyone else seems to praise it). Over grooved pavement it behaves like driving over metal bridge. Very loud after 10-15 K miles. For the money the Michelin SS seems to be the best, overall.

The Michelin Pilot SS is strictly a summer tire. He was looking for an all season tire. I run Continental Extreme Contacts on my 05 A6. 225-40-18 I should have went with 225-45-18 just for the improved ride. The Contis are incredible on high speed smooth roads. I can do 100mph and it's like I am standing still. There is a bit of road noise when turning I believe because of the strange tread design, and no it's not my ball joints, bearings front end. Car is perfect. I do like the tires and would recommended them. They are great in the rain and snow, and trust me, living in Wisconsin I know bad weather. I don't have the sport package thank God, so I don't know how they would be with this.
