Arrow New tires for 2005 Audi Allroad

OEM tires are 225-55-R17 Pirelli P6 'Allroad' 97H rated. They lasted 25,000 miles--never driven hard or aggressively. Car is used 95% in San Francisco where rainy weather is only 3 to 4 months of the year. Car is driven in the snow in Sierra Mountains infrequently.

SO...best tire? Stay w Pirelli at $109 each? Continental "Pure Contact" (their new 'Eco Plus Technology' at $145? Continental "Extreme Contact DWS" at $142? Michellin Primacy MXV4 at $174?

Truly confusing. Also, is it almost silly NOT to have the car alignment re-calibrated ?

Hi,

It depends on what it is you are looking for from the tire. The Extreme Contact DWS does extremely well in the conditions you described but it is an Ultra High Performance All Season. It will give you a shorter life and a still more stiff ride. From the other tires I would suggest the new Pure Contact. When I tested this tire I was extremely surprised at how it handled and drove for a Touring class tire. It will give you a super smooth, quite ride, with a longer tread life than the DWS.

If you have additional questions just let me know.

Thanks,
