I bought a 98 audi a4 from a used car dealer and it already had tires on it. Mid/low end tires but they are all new so I'm happy. I pulled the tires off last night and one of them is bubbling so I know I am looking at a blowout down the line sometime. The tire size for all trhe tires are 205x55x16.

I just had a friend offer me 2 free snow tires that are almost new. The size of these are 205x60x16. I have read that different sized tires are not good for the quattro system but does this mean that I shouldn't even take these? They are nicer tires but I can't afford buying two other tires any time soon.

For those that don't know the discrepancy of the new tires would be about 1/4 inch narrowed in the road to rim width.
