Two New Comparison Tests
A couple new comparison tests were published on the website this month. Here are the links if you haven't gotten to check them out yet:
Clash of the Titans: Max Performance Summer tires
My experience was right in line with what we found here. The new Bridgestone S04 felt firm and confident but heavy especially compared to the new Michelin Super Sport. Both are intensely sticky and could be used on a track or for every day driving. It's going to be hard to top the Super Sport in comfort, longevity, and performance. The Continental DW is still a great pick a usually a better bang for buck but couldn't match what the others could do on the track. The Pirelli PZero certainly wasn't bad, but is starting to feel old in comparison to the others.
Value-Priced Max Performance Tires
This Hankook Ventus V12 is still a winner in my opinion and had surprising good road manners. It lacked the responsiveness and cornering ability of the Dunlop Sport Maxx TT though which is why the Sport Maxx finish higher. The Sumitomo HTR Z III had a great responsiveness - very and easy to control. Neither that or the Kumho Sport LE Sport had great traction though and it was especially obvious in the wet.
