the brackets themselves, in case you're so bold... They took a couple hours.

the brackets I made, bolted down inside the housing to the original (2001) projector mounts. Notice the diameter of the lens opening has also been carefully enlarged.

front of the car up on my lift, w/ everything off [lift not necessary to remove the bumper & thus not necessary to do this swap]

I wanted to clean up the inside, so I experimented a bit. DON"T use any sort of solvent. Even ethanol removed the chrome reflective paint

OOOOOPPPS.....

I've seen it recommended several times to use the "careful oven method" to remove the lens.

I was able to get my project out of the rear of the headlight, so I didn't 'need' to remove the lens (from the black headlight body).

I had a spare headlight laying around from the swap, though, so I decided to try it.

I carefully brought the oven up to temp, using a thermometer, but as you can see it DID NOT WORK!! :)

I am pretty careful, so I would try alternative methods at all costs before attempting the oven to loosen the bond between lens cover and housing.
