So, I've had my A8L for about two years now and I really haven't noticed this because I rarely ever do it, but there is a weird thing that happens when you really stomp on the gas pedal (actually floor it). I normally don't have an open road or a speed limit that allows it, so I usually don't push on the throttle that much in my car. It has the 4.2 V8 and has enough power that I don't have to push it very hard to get by slower traffic. However, I've noticed that the pedal has like a "click" when you mash on it and the car becomes somewhat of a savage. I was curious as to if this was a feature of this car seeing as how it was more of a comfort vehicle than anything, or is this an anomaly? Not a lot of info on this particular Audi.

 

that is called the "kick down" limit. just drops a gear and motor revs up. Yes a feature.
