'10 Coupe - Steering Issue
Hi Everyone,
I've looked through the threads and didn't see my exact issue but if I missed one, let me know.
Here is the issue:
2010 A5 Coupe - Prestige Package, 55K miles
The steering became really stiff/heavy like there is no assist. It did it about a week ago and shutting the car off and turning it back on fixed it, but this time it didn't work. The tires have the correct pressure, the steering fluid looks fine and the belts look good. There is also no strange noises when turning the wheel, just stiff.
Any help would be appreciated,
Russ

Heavy Steering
I have the same problem happening on my Audi A5 2001 2.0 AWD which only has 50,000 miles.
The steering has become increasingly heavier after I drive it.
Someone told it might be the power steering pump, the power steering fluid looks good with no metal particles on it.
Did anybody have the same problem and how did you fix it.
Carlos

I had the same issue with my 2010 A5. The stiff steering became more significant if the car sat for a while during my travels. My mechanic put the car up on a lift and while I sat in it and turned the steering quickly from lock to lock, he sprayed the power steering hydraulic cylinder with some lubricant (oil?). After doing it for a few minutes the steering was greatly eased and has since been fine.
