Default motor swap 2.3 10v to 2.2 20vt

I was wondering if anyone knew how easy it would be to swap out my 2.3 10v for a 2.2 20vt. Also what are the horsepower limits on a stock drivetrain. I plan on buliding a 2.2 to somewhere around 300hp/300ft lbs and i just want to know if anything else is going to need replacing.

Default engine change

there is so much work that needs to be done 1st is it the quattro or 2wd that you own. the 20vt would chew up the prop n torson if it was the quattro. the 20vt also have traction control and a complete different loom most of the ecu n controll boxes are mounted under the rear seat like the quattro models so you would need litterally every square inch of loom. you need twin pot callipers and shocks and springs as the 90's have too much roll in the suspention the exhaust downpipes are different aswell. i no one person who nearly attempted this and in the end came to the conclusion it was easier and more reliable to take the car to technics turbo here in the uk and have them convert the engine he already had, but the changed his mind and done away with 2226 (KV) engine and bourght a second hand 2.3 (NG) engine as the ignition modules on the distributor etc were different not vacume bassed which would run better. in the end the who lot cost bout $3200 in your money. now the car worth bout 2000 pounds which is a good investment. however you can buy them here for bout 1500 quid. if that helps
