1999 A4 2.8 turbo kit?
OK OK, KAKAROT i have to cut you off man, i am sorry.
The 2.8L 30V block can only handle about 237AWHP. A senior member of scaudi.com (the head-quarters for boosting any 2.8L) ran 237awhp @12psi intercooled and blew a piston. 2 wheel drive 2.8L's are always going to get more HP...around 240-250whp. the stock 2.8L internals are very weak and can NOT handle anything more than 11psi. The senior member that i was talking about goes by '4rings' on scaudi.com.
if you want to know anything about getting more power out of your v6 go there.
Turbo's for the V6 are possible but cost ALOT of money and really give you the same amount of power as the PES G2 supercharger kit....because again, the block is very weak on this engine.
That doesnt make any sence that 400hp will pull better than 500hp....if u are talking about dealing with power in the right way...as in adding sticky tires and making suspention adjustments for the added power then the 500hp will always pull better.
PES G2 superchargers can be found for around 3500 new on ebay straight from the company.
A twin screw has never been tried on the 2.8....but getting 550hp is going to need some SERIOUS SERIOUS bottom end build up....the only one that is coming close to that is going to be 4rings on scaudi.com. the 2.8 has never been pushed that far before.
the 1.8T is a great choice for upgrading because it has been tried and proven, the 2.8 however is still in the experimental stages of big power adjustments or modifications.
Sorry i diddent proof read.

I have a 96 12v 2.8 im thinking of remote mounting a turbo...but all I seem to see in my searches is DONT DO IT. if the engine can handle 5lbs no issues why not turbo it then, at least you can gain around 80-100hp, thats better than nothing.
since im considering the boost option for my 2.8 im looking around to find out what ill need/ how far I can go with it. I dont need to run 300+ HP this is my DD afterall...plus I have an SRT-4 with damn near 450whp...I just want to boost my DD for some added fun
so since there are the important questions to think about when turboing im going to ask them.
1 what size are the stock 2.8 injectors( are they sat or p/h)
2 does anyone know the HP limit of the stock internals(rods mainly)
3 must you truely run a stand-alone or is there a way to run a chipped ECU(saw mixed responses to this)
remember all im looking to do here is gain some added "fun" power and since im not even thinking of a SC dont tell me to go that route, the same questions will arise with a SC and a turbo is so much cheaper anyhow

for #1 check in the A4 B5 section, make sure to mention 12V.
for #2 Read my above post, Rods are from the S4. This fact has been solidified on scaudi.com.
for #3 Stand alone is only option. The 12V ECU is not very 'tune-friendly' to say the least
In addition, be prepared to spend alot of cash on the tune. And the PES G2 supercharger is not available for the 12v

ok that all but answers them all(except the injectors)
so i think ill start building up my kit and getting things ready...may take me a while but I will end up doing it hopefully(that is if I dont change my mind, give up or get rid of it for an S4) as im not looking to make huge power i just want a little extra umpf ill prolly run no more than 5-7lbs. dont need the car at 250hp...my SRT is well over that and thats fine for me...just want my DD a little more peppy.

IMO,the best 2.8 " T " option and Im not even sure if it would work but here it is. Get one turbo manifold from a 2.7T and one small turbo. This would be A-symetrical like the SAAB 95 V6. Exhaust from one bank blowing air into both banks, and with a small turbo like the SAABs setup, you would not need a bov because it wouldnt make enough boost to hurt the engine. If you put the turbo on the right side, the air could go into the turbo directly from the air box then right into the TB. Very minimal plumbing mods. Dont know if the power gains would be worth the money spent, but it could be done. Problem would be getting the ecu tuned. Again though, not sure if this idea would work, but it sure sounds good. Im saving for a PES G2, cause all the expirementation is not worth it too me.
2001A6 i know exactly what you meen. I feel you on that one. If i had the financial backing to handel a possible Epic Fail I would be supercharging my 2.8 with a Vortech Supercharger and building the bottom end to see if i could make crazy numbers. But for right now, G2 Dreams are the safest Dreams. lol.
A4Effort just got a G1, cant wait to see what he does with it.

yo would you mind if i asked you a few more questions about the supercharger? my email is Pacman1745@gmail.com
