Hello TT enthusiasts. I currently have an 86 coupe, but looking to upgrade my driving needs a bit. The TT is quite attractive, but I'd like some input from you veterans as to what I should expect. Price wise, it look like the 2001/2002 market is my best bet. My research has turned up much info on the infamous cluster issue and also the importance of timing belt maintenance. I normally do most of my own work, but I know it's still expensive. I've owned 2 86 coupes and VW corrado so I'm accustomed to the subtleties of german car quirkiness. So, any advice?

get a 225 quattro coupe. Get one from the Audi dealer that is certified preowned. CPO ads 2 years/100k miles to your warranty

 

I've got an 03 225 QC w almost 50,000 miles that just passed dealer TB inspection and had cluster replaced. Has Forge FMIC and splitter valve, Haldex blue, rear seat delete (still have rear seat setup) Unitronics Stage 1 + reflash, ASA AR1 wheels w BFG KDW tires & spacers. Has Vag Com Key USB and remote start/keyless/alarm.
