View Full Version : Drive by wire? TexasAudi 07-17-2005, 03:38 AM what year did it change from drive by wire to non-drive by wire? Nasty 07-18-2005, 04:56 PM in the A4 it was 2000 and i think the correct term is throttle by wire edit the a4 was not throttle by wire untill 2000 then i believe all 2000+ were throttle by wire dclaw_fantum 08-19-2005, 05:00 AM Hey nasty, I believe that it was more like 1997, not 2000. Definitely by 1998. Talking about the A4. {added} The Electronic Pedal Control (EPC) was introduced in 1997 as a mid-year change. Not sure when ALL used the EPC system. Nasty 08-19-2005, 11:30 PM only the 2000+ A4's are throttle by wire. John814 03-07-2006, 11:01 PM Does anyone mind explaining the difference? Slowb5 04-29-2006, 05:28 AM DBW, is throttle position being controlled by the computer (aka, bullsh!t) dbw, no computer involved...press the gas throttle opens, no lag for the computer to realize you are stepping on it....oh, and if boost ever goes past..20 psi, it closes the throttle to 3/4...drive by wire that is... NDBW-nondrivebywire *thumbsup* DBW-drivebywire *sh!tty* |
