i was goin to buy an 2000 a4 1.8 quattro
but for some reason..when it hits 5k rpm's..it feels like the car has reached it's redline...the car slows down a lot and it feels like the engine is stressing..i was just wondering if this is normal..i think it might be that there is too much air being sucked in from the turbo and there fore the turbo stops suckin in air since the factory turbo is really small
but please help me..cuz i really like the car and i was gettin it at a cheap price

Some of the more experienced guys can correct me if I'm off base here, but it sounds like you may have a bad diverter valve and your losing boost prematurely.

 

no one cares if you love honda's. btw , they suck.

and yes a stock ko3 turbo will start loosing boost around 5-6k

 

It should still continue to rev past 5K though... plugs and wires maybe? any CEL's (check engine lights)?

 

might be some sort of a boost leak? but then again its ko3. looses juice fast.

 

no..no check engine light....ima tell the dealer ship to fix the plugs and wires and see if thats the problem..i haven't officially bought the car..but its on hold for me
BTW..my hatch is not the fastest car ever but i have spanked my buddy's 1.8 quattro shipped, DV valve, Downpipe, exhaust..its a 13 sec hatch
