Default Extended warrantee option

I'm about to purchase a 2001 S4 Avant, 31k miles, from a reputable dealer who has found an end of lease trade-in. Car appears to be in great shape, runs well.
An aftermarket bumper to bumper warrantee to 100k miles is available for $2800. Limited coverage options are available for less money.

I know I'll have the remainder of the factory warrantee available. I maintain my cars well, but I also intend to do some track events and high performance driving. What worries me is the potential for expensive repairs, either mechanical or electrical, over the course of ownership.

In your estimation as A4 owners, is the extendeed warrantee a worthwhile option.

would that be the audi certified warranty? i didn't think they were that expensive. when i bought my 99 A4, i called AoA and found out that the car had once been audi assured, so i was able to transfer the balance of the warranty (one year, or 100,000) for $150. AoA told me that it didn't matter who you bought it from, once Pre-certified, always pre-certified.

i'm not sure how much is tacked on to the price when the pre-certification is first issued.

well how many mods do you plan on installing? Audi dealerships don't really appreciate you doing that and may effect your warranty.
