Default installed evo intake; success

installed the cold air intake toay took it out for a ride. results: i felt like the car was running richer, less turbo lag espcially after driving for like 30 minutes my car used to like quit on me but i drove it about all day with the cold air intake without the turbo lag. as of performance wise you cant feel a huge diffrence but the car picks up quicker and pulls better(richer). so far no complaints about the intake

well running ritcher isnt a good thing. shouldnt make u pull harder unless u were running too lean.,

and an intake, if anything, should make it leaner because it gets more air.

ritch = too much fuel, not enough air
lean = too much air not enough fuel.

Yeah man running too rich is a bad thing. I had an 88 ranger that ran rich for too long. The result: hole in the #4 piston...

If you are stock, there shouldnt be hardly any turbo lag this time of the year anyway. Once temps get bellow 50-60 turbo lag with the k03 is pretty much gone. It will always lag a bit, but in the cooler months you should be hitting full boost real quick. Where did you get the intake? How much? Glad you are happy with it.

LOL, I disagree with ya there, respectfully.

As far as I am concerned, with a k03 there is always turbo lag up till 3k, then after that life is good! Of course it does spool quicker at lower temps. But God forbid you pull out in front of traffic in 2nd gear at 1200 rpms!

Hey, still want to hook up with you Onepoint8tee.

I should be around some this weekend, or maybe the Easton photoshoot will come about in the near future.

yes it was for 110. another positive thing that it did for my car was that when i was on 2nd my car pulled hard, 3rd gear it pull hard till it hits 5 grand and when i used to shift to 4th i was loosing the pull form the turbo. well now my car pulls well in the whole third gear and when i shift to 4th it still feels a strong pull with the cold air intake way stronger then the stock intake. ooh by the way my car is chipped with 93 oct apr, have tt diverter vavle and it is (TIPTRONIC)+quattro. also when the engine gets hot, the car was really lazy on the first gear with the torq(had no problems when the engine was cool) but now with the cold air going to the engine from the evo intake, the i dont seem to loose torq like i did before with out the intake when the engine got hot. for 110 dollars it was a great for my engine. i dissagre to those who say coldair intake doesnt do anything for the 1.8t motor.
