not the engine and transmission the bell housing the part of the transmission that holds the flywheel cluth and pressure plate that bolts to the back of the engine. Some cars you can seperate the bellhousing from the transmission. I need to replace the bell housing on my transmission and i was wondering if it can be done or if the whole trans has to be replaced

Ive had a good look round for pictures of the tranny and only saw complete units for the 2001 bell housing is part of the gearbox not like the older ones, cant you have it welded? depending how big the problem is of course
