View Full Version : Anyone here from OK? 225tt 01-07-2007, 09:35 AM I have been apart of this forum for just a bit now and I am just wondering if anyone is from OK or North Texas? I live in Lawton. AManCalledE 01-09-2007, 12:36 PM OKC in the house madridlover 01-11-2007, 07:46 PM Edmond here!!! MiniSpdRcr 07-05-2007, 10:15 PM OKC...Just go tthe windows tinted and waiting on smoked tail lights :D dtkelley2005 07-25-2007, 03:01 PM Where did you get your windows tinted at? I'm looking for a good place in the city to get mine done. I don't really trust the local shops around here with my TT, lol. By the way, I'm about 80 miles southwest of OKC. k5gixxer 08-06-2007, 11:25 PM Edmond, OK here! Has anyone here taken their car to the Audi repair place on I-35 just north of the York plant in Norman? The guy seems pretty nice and they have been servicing BMW/Audi for 35 years now. I am in need of a timing belt so I'm looking for the best deal. MiniSpdRcr 08-15-2007, 10:46 AM I got the windows tinted at Adams window tinting. (http://www.adamswindowtinting.com/) 199 for lifetime warranty against fading and bubbling from 3M, and thats for a 4 door. I have never been to Bavarian Motorsports, but I know that Autobahn on 36th and Western works on our cars. I have been there many times. They owner is very honest. k5gixxer 08-23-2007, 09:58 AM I went to Autobahn and spoke to Rick yesterday. Very nice guy. Greeted with a hand shake. Made no excuses for anything. I asked him about the timing belt and he promised me he would have the estimate by today. We'll see how that goes. I will let you guys know who gave me the best deal and how the service ended up being. BTW.....DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THE BOB MOORE AUDI SERVICE SHOP IN EDMOND! THEY ARE THE WORST STEALERSHIP I HAVE DEALT WITH! I have had my Audi there several times and each time I just want to call them out on crap! They told me that both the inner and outer CV boots were torn and needed immediate attention while the car was in there for an oil change. Little did they know I worked on cars alot when I worked at a local tire/repair shop many years ago and when I got the car home I put it on the jack and low and behold......there was nothing wrong with the CV boots....hmmm. The final straw was when the Audi threw the Serp. Belt cuz the Tensioner ate itself.....They had the car for 2.5 days cuz they had to "wait for the parts". when I got the car back I noticed one of my headlights was faded badly???? The other still looked new? I thought that was kinda odd cuz it was so obvious and as much time as I spend cleaning this car I knew it was not like this when I brought it in. I questioned him about it and he seemed uneasy but stood his ground after the mech. said that was the way it was when I brought it to him. Funny thing though. I went home and looked at some photos of the car that I had taken when our new house was being built, just about two weeks before they had it in the shop, and both head light assy's looked perfect! I printed the picture and brought it up to them and again......same thing. I finally decided I will never go there again! as I was leaving I noticed in the back parking lot....Another A6 with one really nice head light and the other looked mysteriously like the bad one on mine. the good light on this car just so happened to be on the same side as the light assembly on my car!!!!! I just kept on going and chalked it up to a very expensive lesson learned! I have no doubt that the people there will rob you blind if they could!!!! AManCalledE 08-23-2007, 10:07 AM That's weird about Bob Moore, because my experience there has been excellent. Dennis seems to be a stand up kind of guy. Heck, my only complaint is that when they wash the car, they don't do my wheels very well!!! Maybe it is because I am still under warranty, so we will see if things change in 35k miles. MiniSpdRcr 08-28-2007, 10:22 AM Rick at Autobahn quoted me $380 for labor on the timing belt plus some extra if some seals need to be replaced. Its been a while so I cannot remember correctly. It may not look fancy, but the 8+ years I have been going there and not one dissapointment. I did not ask for parts since ECS sells the kits. And I second the Audi shop in Edmond being a HORRIBLE place to go. Took my car in for a recall and left with a $800 dollar bill on a camshaft sensor that I know worked when I went in there, at least nothing was messing up, car idled nicely. They told me the only reason it might be broken is if I got into an accident or I took it out and hit it with a hammer, neither of which happend. I have no idea where thatsensor is. I fought with them and won it...they did the work and part install for free. I am never going there again. MiniSpdRcr 08-29-2007, 03:00 PM Is your Audi the green one? k5gixxer 09-05-2007, 08:48 AM If your talking to me....No, mine is Silver. Funny you mention sensor. I brought it to them for a check engine light once and they told me that some sensor was causing the light to come on. Sounded good to me. So they replaced it. Had something to do with the ESP. Anyway, when I got the car back I noticed it was pulling really bad to the left. and the wheel was completely misaligned! I drove it back to them not 5 minutes from when I left and he went on a ride with me. Made some suggestions about the fact my wife may have driven the car into a curb so we got out and there was no damage to any of the wheels so I ruled out that idea. They insisted there was nothing wrong, even thought the light was back on and said they are to booked up to look at in now and made me an appt. for a week later. So I drive around for one week with mycar all jacked up to the point where I am this close to selling it, they get my car in the air and all of a sudden the tech noticed the control arms were bent from the tow company!!!!! How the hell did they miss that???? On of the wheels was about two inches in toward the body from where it was supposed to be!! So I take the fight to the insurance company and they get the tow company to pay for the damages and rental car while the car is being fixed! USAA BTW. So now my car is fixed and they give it back to me and the check engine light is now off and come to find out that it was the Steering angle sensor causing the fault since the steering was so far off from center and needed to be reset!!!! With this knowledge you would think....hmmm, they replaced the wrong sensor right? Nope! they told me that it was calling itself bad and they replaced it based on that. So I suggested to reinstall the old sensor and let see what happens? Sorry, we throught it away since it was over a week since your car was here!!!!! I tell you.....I hope nobody ever has to go thru this kind of crap! If you take your car there and are satisfied with the service then I am very happy for you. But for me..... They are a bunch of cons artist just out for your money. Hell, my first oil change there they screwed up and put regular oil in the car! I specifically told him to put synthetic oil since the car was a twin turbo, Okay...and when I look at the reciept it said "Bulk Oil"......So I asked and he said I never mentioned that. Then I noticed that it wasn't even the correct weight that Audi recommended in the manual. His defense was that his tech must have missed that and brought the car right back in and replaced the oil. I made him to it and when he gave the car to me I asked him if he replaced the oil filter? Nope! Cmon man? The car was running....don't you think the oil filter has some of the regular oil in it? It will be okay he say's so I have to go to the parts store and do an oil change myself! just so I can have the peace of mind! I will give you one thing.......they do wash the car pretty good for every service, which was nice but really.....not worth the mind games! k5gixxer 09-05-2007, 09:09 AM BTW, Took my car to that Audi place on I-35 just north of the York plant. Very good guys!!!!! They did a great job! I would recommend them to anyone. Autobahn.....Rick took over 1 month just to get an estimate. I just happened to drive by and stopped in to meet him. He was a nice guy and told me he had cars to fix and did not have time to get an estimate right now plus he lost my information after I gave it to him twice! He took my info down since I was there and PROMISED me he would get it to me the very next morning. It's been two weeks now since that promise and I still have not heard from him! Am I being too demanding here? MiniSpdRcr 09-07-2007, 10:50 AM Nope...Rick is just super busy right now. And with him and his son only working there it takes them a while. How much does the place on I-35 charge for a Timing Belt? k5gixxer 10-04-2007, 11:49 AM I paid about $800 for the timing belt, tensioners, rollers, thermo, water pump and a few other things. MiniSpdRcr 10-17-2007, 02:47 PM Well I know I will not be using them (Bavarian Auto). I called them and told them I had the parts, they asked me if Ido work myself on cars, which I do, and they said that they cannot work on my car.Which I find odd that since I have my parts and I do work on cars that they do not want to touch my car. I paid 350 for parts (from ECS)and will pay 350 for the labor (At Autobahn). Saves a bit too. 225tt 11-03-2007, 03:23 PM www.wetdub.com (http://www.wetdub.com) anyone? MiniSpdRcr 11-09-2007, 04:27 PM Nope...but will check it out madridlover 02-01-2008, 11:09 AM Road Star Imports does great work on Audi's. Ask for the owner, his name is Lott. Also, he only has 1 -2 techs at the most at any given time so be patient, it'll save you tons of money. I've been taking my A6 Quattro and Bimmer to him for years (when I can't do the work myself) and not one complaint. He even lets you watch him do the work!! Yeah, Bob Moore sucks. I rarely ever go there....only to get an alignment since no one locally seems to be able to do an all-wheel alignment. |
