Hello,

I own a 2001 Audi A6 2.8 and my engine light keeps coming on. I had it checked twice and both times comes up as bank 1 catylic converter. Which is passenger side catylic converter. The dealer tells me that is sporadic and the catylic converter passed the test twice. Is this common for these cars? If i need to replace my catylic converter is there a better place to purchase from besides the dealer? They want around $1400.00 for each one.

there are a lot of universal ones around you will have to find a custom exhaust shop and they should be able to help you out

 

Thank you for the reply. But if i put im an aftermarket one will i run into any problems? I also own couple of BMW's and on the BMW if i put an aftermarket one I ran into all kinds of problems.

I work for a Audi dealer and we have had a few cases espically if they are out of warrenty like yourself where we have used aftermarket and we have not seen any problems
