I can top that. My 1989 Audi 200 doesn't even have a cup holder! I guess those rational Germans don't believe in mixing cafeine and speed. Does anyone know of aftermarket cup holders for Audi that look good? I'm tried of holding my drink between my legs.

i have that cupholder and works great for bottles, cans and REGULAR size drinks. Those mega drinks are too big to fit in it. Search on google for a complete write up there are a bunch of them and they have the VW part number so u cna get it form ur local dealer. It is also on clairparts.com

Most german companies don't make cup holders in the german versions of their cars. Therefore like the b5 the cheap center cupholders were just thrown in as a last adendum to satisfy the needs of us americans.

+1 on what 97 A42.8 said. I was born and raised in France and never saw a cup holder in a car until I moved to the US. I guess us Europeans rather drive cars than drink in them!;)

If you really really reallly need a cup holder, you can go for the ahead-of-its-time style that we had in our 91 buick century custom when about 15 years ago:
