hey, im 16 years old in D.C.
anyways, im looking to get my first car, although ive had my liscense for about a year. I want to buy a stick shift (No Automatic is not a choice for me). Okay, so, my friend is good w/ cars and he said i should get an a4 (S) series. But I was looking at the 2000 TT.... i Can Only afford a year 2000 model of either b/c i am only going to be able to pay about 12-14k at the most since im just 16. so obviously it's going to be used. I noticed dat the s4 is more expensive for obvious reasons with the horsepower and liters etc.... plus i think its 6 speed.

To get to the point, anyone have recomendations on wheter i should get a TT 2000, or an s4 2000. I beleive the TT 2000 looks a whole lot better inter and exter. than the s4 does, although s4 newer models look great

but i think a TT would be a better first car
i dont car how good of a driver you are, youll crash the s4
its a lot of power

i think you should go with an A4 1.8T

great first car and HIGHLY modable so as you need more power, you can add it

and think about it
how practicle is a 2 seat car for a 16 year old

my first car was an a4 and now i drive an s4

i dont think ill ever stray from audi

I agree with washyourrhands, I think you should look into an A4, I mean with your budget you can get some really nice ones and even so wickedly fast ones if you know where to look, the S4 1) will cost more in insurance 2) be a lot more to repair and 3) have a higher initial cost. Personally I think the oler TT's look interesting to say the least but I agree when yor 16/17 you need four doors, I've had a lot of people in the back of my car ad I've always been glad it's had a back seat.


If you are really set on the TT then by all means get it, but my sugestion would be to look for an 2000 or around their A4 with a Big Turbo attached to it or something (if you want power) or buy one yourself cheap and then mod it how you want with the left over cash. Also oyu could get a newer A4 with that kind of money too.


Jus my opinion commig from an 18 year old. looking back on it, I am glad I don't have an S4 for my first car (now my second will be a different story)
