Default Need Help Choosing Model + Info

New to the forum, new to Audi. Looking into buying an A4but I'm not familiar with them at all. I was looking for something with low mileage and as much of the factory warranty left as possible so I'm looking mostly in Audi dealers. What I really need is info about the different models, options and pricing. Right now the '05 and '06s are our main focus but we may have to look at '04s if the prices are out of our zone. We live about an hour north of NYC and are very close to NJ and PA so if there are any dealers that you can recommend (or not) it would be great. Also do they need premium all the time or is there an acceptable amount of regular fuel that can be used? I'm a mechanic so I understand the reason for the fuel requirements but some cars are more flexible in what they need. It would be nice to get some opinionson the good and bad of these model and would like to know any problem areas before I buy. If I hadknown about the AWD system in my FX35 I never would have bought it. Pricing help, orif anyone knowsa person or dealership that you could steer me too, would alsoreally help. Ilike tocome to a price that I can shoot for before I go into the sharks den. Looking foward to being an active forum member!TNX

New to the forum, new to Audi. Looking into buying an A4but I'm not familiar with them at all. I was looking for something with low mileage and as much of the factory warranty left as possible so I'm looking mostly in Audi dealers. What I really need is info about the different models, options and pricing. There are 2 engine options. a 1.8T or a 3.0. The 3.0 is more powerful stock, more reliable, and plusher on the inside, but you can not mod it at all. The 1.8T can be modded extensively and once chipped is faster than the 3.0, and has better fuel economy. There's FWD and AWD, you want AWD. and there are USP (ultrasport) that look MUCH better than the stock a4's. The car will run on regular, the knock sensor will prevent anything bad from happening, but it will run like crap and you will get lower fuel economy so you'll end up paying the same if not more putting regular or mid-grade in It would be nice to get some opinionson the good and bad of these model and would like to know any problem areas before I buy. read my newbie guide https://www.audiforums.com/m_700266/tm.htm If I hadknown about the AWD system in my FX35 I never would have bought it.why? Pricing help, orif anyone knowsa person or dealership that you could steer me too, would alsoreally help. Ilike tocome to a price that I can shoot for before I go into the sharks den. I'm in Monroe, NY 10950. I'm looking at certifed used in the 20-25k price range but can go higher if the deal is worth it.We were told that they were lowering their prices on the used cars across the board to blow them out.The Tiptronic would be nice, especially if it's the better choiceof Trans or options. The 3.0 sounds like what I'm looking for but I wouldn't rule the 1.8T outcompletely, does the chip void theOEM warranty andwhat are the mods necessary to get HP and fueleconomy (how much better)? Not really looking to do deepinvasive mods like engine or trans, all depends on what the mod is for and how much work/$$ is involved.Definitely want AWD,and are the USPs from the factory or aftermarket, I guess their pricing is higher ? I usually try to get a loaded car at the lowest possible price. It's probably going to be used by 4 family members but definitely several x a week for19yr old son to get to school.Reliability a must.

Well <05.5 is a B6 they have 1.8t and 3.0 engines, everything after 2005.5 is a b7 model, they come with 2.0t and 3.2. B7's cost more cause they are newer. If you chip your 1.8T it would be almost as fast as 3.0.
UltraSportPkgs are from the factory. You can always get an aftermarket warranty. Good Luck.

You can also mod a 2.0t pretty easy. there isn't as much out right now but its because they are new.

Go with the used b7 2.0T (2005.5and higher)with extended warrantee. You wont be dissapointed. Get AWD. The fuel economy and performance on this car is amazing. It has been very reliable for me. (although I bought new) Check out audiusa.com or autotrader.com to familiarize yourself with options.
