I just bought a 07 A3 for 2 weeks, but unfortunately someone just slammed the door on my car and nowthere isa about 0.5cm x 0.3cmchip on my brand-new car...

I did some search...
anyone knows if paintscratch http://www.paintscratch.com/ is good? oris there a better one? I haven't done any paint job myself before.. should I go to a bodyshop to fix it? any suggestion?

Let me know how it goes after detailing my car this weekend i noticed a couple little scratches. Nothing you can see without knowing where it is but still i am developing a nervous twitch just thinking about it.

 

I ordered a few items from paintscratch a few months ago. FYI, all you need is the base paint and the clearcoat. The rubbing compound and the paint thinner can be purchased elsewhere for a much better price for the volume. I also recommend avoiding the paint pens. The paint is hard to control with the pen's tip and the paint drys to quickly and coagulates. Get the bottled paint instead as you can easily dab a small layer, wait for it to dry, then smooth it with rubbing compound, and then repeat the process until you get an even layer. Hope this helps.

 

I've been pretty protective of my car as well, but despite all of my efforts some idiot put a nice long scratch along the passenger side of my 7-month old A3.

I did some quick research as well, and came across paintscratch.com. Let me know if you think it works as well as they claim. Also on the U.S. TT Auto Club there is another resource mentioned, but it seems that the focus is on rock chips on the hood. http://drcolorchip.com/

Also, I am not looking at fixing it myself if the process requiressanding down the door and respraying. I'll no doubt screw it up even worse.
