Oh it won't work man, not because it won't bolt up, but because the electronics on the newer model is so much more complex. You would need a new ECM, TCM, engine wiring harness, interior wiring harness, hardware for the new tranny and so much more. Everything on the D3 A8 is fiberoptic so you're getting into more trouble than you want.
Plus the transmissions are about the same in dependancy, except the 04+ model tranny is about 100 lbs more which is not ideal.
