Disabling DBS?

Disabling DBS?
Hello,
Does anybody have a step by step guide on how to disable the DBS function using the vag com software. My 97 A8 Quattro is doing that annoying shifting like shifting into 4th gear and not even reaching 40mph. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

RE: Disabling DBS?
Are you asking if you can change the shift points? The VAG COM can't change the software in the TCM, you can however take out the TCM and send it out to a company like GIAC and get a TIP CHIP, which turns the tranny into a shifting beast. You can red line the shifts if you want, it shifts a lot harder and more crisp ect. It costs around $600 to get a tip chip.

RE: Disabling DBS?
No my bad, I was asking if it is possible to disable the DSP feature (dynamic shift program) using the Vag com software? I think I did it but there is no change in the shifting patterns. The transmission still shifts too early. It goes in the fourth gear and I am at 40mph only. I have used the numbers 00012 and 00011. I tried inputting 00010 but it would not take it. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

No you can't do anything with a VAG COM to the trans, you can change engine things using the VAG and Lemmiwinks software but not the tranny.
The best thing for you is to invest in a tip chip, you won't be dissapointed.

It will completely re-map the shifting patterns, so its gonna be like driving a new car all together.
As for the tip chip, you need to find a GIAC dealer near you, you can either send out your TCM yourself (which is under the carpet on the passenger's side) or take it to the installer itself and have them do it all for you.
