Hey all,
Just wondering what the problem (mechanical/electrical) might be for the problem i am having. I cant seem to open my Front side passenger door from the inside. The door opens from the outside, but cant be opened from the inside. The door lock does go "up" and "down" using the remote and it locks the front passenger side. However, if your in the the car and want to go out, you have to roll down your window and open the door by pulling the outside handle.

Wondering if this ever happend to anyone. If so, whats the part I got to replace and how much? Also do you think any BODY shop can do this or should take it to AUDI or a Euro mechanic.

the first thing you need to do is remove the door panel...here's a write-up on how to do that....you should then be able to see what's broken (there's also a chance that something just popped off and needs to be reconnected)

 

what part do i exactly need. And how much? anyone got any idea. Thanks for the bentframe, but i dont know if I can do that job, NOT TOO mechanically savvy. You know...BUT i need to know how much the part is and what part exactly.

 

No way to be sure without actually taking things apart.

 

well, it could very well be the part that is replaced in that write-up.....i would say that's probably the most likely....it's really not difficult, at all. if you have a phillips head screwdriver, you can take off the door panel...it's just five easily accessible screws, and some electrical connections to unplug...

 

i dont know what part it could be...however, all i know is that when i pull on the handle from the inside it wont open. I dont feel that resistance like i do in the driver side. (which does open)

child lock protection? happend to me in a volvo once.

 

do the front doors child lock?....
