why is my exhaust system rusting when its suppose to be stainless steal?

do you guys think that I could get it replaced for free since I got life time warranty thru magnaflow?

my other question is... how many mufflers do you guys have on ur exhaust system? mine has two but I've seen people running only 1... would it sound deeper if I deleted the middle muffler or would it sound to fart canish if I did that...

any opinion or suggestion would help!

Stainless steel rusts.

They aren't going to replace it unless there is perforation.

Removing the middle muffler will give you much more noise. I' d leave it alone.

 

I deleted my cat, and mid muffler and added a cheap ebay muffler to it, its sounds good to me. I am switching my entire exhaust system soon from the test pipe back with 2.75' or 3' piping to a custom borla muffler most likely.

 

I have 2.5" cat-back with a res. chamber, and that's it.


BTW, Stainless steel doesn't mean it doesn't rust -- no matter what kind of steel it is, oxidation still occurs. That's the atmosphere for you [&:]

 

Do you thinkthat maybejust the muffler/tips are stainless and the pipes are galvanized?
