I've got an '04 S4 with just over 49000 miles. The warranty expires in less than 1000 miles and this year. The dealer offers extended warranties. I know this car is expensive to fix, and I do drive my car aggressively. I want this car to last about 2 more years and 35000 miles. Is the warranty worth the cost? There are many different options, but I was looking at 3 years/36000 miles covering engine, transmission/transaxle/transfer case, drive axle, steering, brakes, air conditioning, front suspension, and electrical. This would cost about $2500. Is it worth it??? Or do I take a chance?

 

lets just say the tranny gives out since you drive it hard..... most likely it will be a grand easily and mabey a differrential probably 500. And some other things could happen costing a grand or more. Do it

 

What are the odds of all of those things happening? I can see one or possibly two, but my car is still very tight, with no flaws. If two of the issues you mentioned happen, it would still be less than the warranty. Are these problems common?
